The latest edition of Noorderzon was a special one for us: for the first time, TakeAware was the official sustainable disposables partner of Noorderzon. A collaboration that fits perfectly with who we are. As a Groningen-based company, we are proud to contribute to a local event where sustainability and collaboration are key. And our involvement will continue in the years ahead, as the partnership is planned for at least three editions.
A sustainable partnership with Groningen roots
Noorderzon takes place every year in the beautiful Noorderplantsoen park in Groningen. During the festival, thousands of visitors come together to enjoy theatre, music and, of course, delicious food and drinks.
As the sustainable disposables partner, we support the many food trucks at the festival with suitable packaging for their food and drinks. From snack trays and meal containers to cups and other disposables, together we help make the festival not only enjoyable, but also more consciously organised
Meeting the Noorderzon food vendors
Before the festival started, we attended the food vendors' meeting. This gave us the opportunity to meet the food truck owners and other entrepreneurs taking part in Noorderzon.
Some of the vendors already knew us and were already using our products in their food trucks. We also met plenty of new entrepreneurs whom we were able to supply with sustainable disposables during the festival.
One of the great things about this partnership is that we have direct contact with the people behind the food trucks. This allows us to think along with them about which packaging best suits their dishes, way of working and individual needs.
Visiting our customers at Noorderzon
Besides being there as a partner, we also wanted to experience for ourselves what a day at Noorderzon is like for the food truck vendors. So we took a walk around the festival site, visited several food trucks and saw first-hand how everything worked during a busy festival day. And of course, we couldn't go home on an empty stomach! 😉 We made a reel of our visit, which you can watch on our Instagram.

We look back on a successful first edition as Noorderzon's sustainable disposables partner. We are proud to contribute to such a fantastic local event as a Groningen-based company and are already looking forward to next year.
Together with Noorderzon and all the food vendors, we will continue working towards a festival where enjoyment and sustainability go hand in hand.
