Cardboard sauce containers

Kraft cardboard is made from paper pulp and is often recognizable by its natural and brown appearance. The applied coating of bio plastic (PLA) makes the product food-safe and grease-free. In addition, this product is moisture resistant and taste and odor neutral. Kraft Cardboard is a natural material and has the great advantage that it is a renewable and recyclable material and thus prevents plastic waste. A large part of our kraft sauce containers has a FSC quality mark. Products that meet the FSC® guidelines are made from wood from responsibly managed forest areas. In this way, deforestation is prevented, which is important to reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change. When felling trees, FSC® takes people and animals into account. The forest is divided into sections and trees are harvested in a different section each year, so that the forest can recover properly.

Sugarcane sauce containers

Sugarcane (pulp) is a natural waste product and is therefore also called bagasse, derived from the Spanish word for waste. Sugarcane products are made from the pulp that remains after the juice has been separated from the cane. Sugarcane sauce containers are plant-based and can biodegrade in 90 days under the right conditions. Plastic, on the other hand, takes no less than 400 years to break down! The rate of degradation of bagasse depends on composting conditions; the temperature, turnover rate, humidity, etc. Shredding bagasse before composting speeds up the process considerably.

PLA sauce containers

PLA is a biodegradable plastic that comes from crops such as corn and sugarcane. The glucose is extracted from the crop and then fermented. This produces lactic acid, which is then processed into polymer. Ultimately, (part of) our transparent sauce containers are made from this. The difference with 'traditional' plastic? It has to do with the raw material.
