In our assortment you will find bowls made of different materials. For example, we have aluminum serving trays, palm leaf catering trays, wooden baking tins and sushi trays with lids made of 100% biodegradable plastic. We also have scalloped cardboard trays that are ideal for takeaway snacks. We mainly work with sustainable materials that are 100% biodegradable, such as sugarcane and Kraft cardboard.
Sugarcane (pulp) is a natural waste product and is therefore also called bagasse, derived from the Spanish word for waste. Sugarcane products are made from the pulp that remains after the juice has been separated from the cane. Using heat and pressure, the pulp is compressed and shaped into the disposables that you see on our virtual shelves. Take a look at our range, with each product it is indicated which materials have been used.
Cardboard is made from paper pulp and is often recognizable by its natural and brown appearance. It is a sustainable material and has the great advantage that it is renewable and recyclable and thus prevents plastic waste. The PE coating makes the tray food-safe and grease-free.
At TakeAware, we do not sell ordinary packaging material. We are always looking for more sustainable alternatives to disposables, often made from plant-based materials.
